Inergen is a composition of natural of gases found in the atmosphere and thus there are no environmental issues relating to its potential discharge. The extinguishing principal behind fixed extinguishing systems with INERGEN® IG 541 is oxygen replacement. This means that the oxygen content in the atmosphere at sea level of 20.9% is lowered to between 10-14%. At this oxygen level common fires will die out. Where other extinguishing agents just lower the oxygen level, INERGEN® distinguishes itself by maintaining an oxygen level which ensures that the atmosphere within the room is conducive to support breathing. This means that the Inergen 541 fire suppression system reduces the oxygen level in the room to below flame threshold but still retains sufficient oxygen for breathing.

The Fire Eater Inergen 541 is UL approved and comes available in both 200 and 300 bar systems. The 200 Bar is common to other Inert systems but the significant advantage is that the 300 bar Inergen fire suppression systems requires less space because the Inergen fire suppression system uses fewer Inergen cylinders.
The Inergen engineered fire suppression system utilizes distribution pipe work in the room, ceiling and floor voids. All pipe work and nozzle placement is calculated using UL approved Inergen distribution software. Please also review the alternative Inergen pre-engineered fire suppression system.
